My name is Tracy and I’m a lot of things. For years, heroin addict, was my most prominent identifier. I’ve spent time in jails, prison, and rehabs throughout my time in addiction. Motherhood allowed me a renewed perspective on life and for my son, I fought like hell to earn more desirable titles for myself.
Today, I’ve added therapist (MSW), nutritionist, and recovered to the list. After 9 years off heroin, I’ve dedicated my life to raising my 3 baby honey badgers (I mean, boys), traveling, and helping people annihilate their inner demons as I have.
You see, there is a common misperception that addiction is cured when you stop doing dope. I believe stopping is only the beginning of recovery. Maintaining lifelong recovery and rebuilding a meaningful life after addiction is a part of recovery that treatment centers often leave behind. This is why multiple stints in rehab often don’t do the trick. How do we handle depression after addiction, find a job as a felon, and rebuild relationships we’ve damaged?
I believe addiction is deeper than chemicals and I use a holistic approach to help maintain lifelong recovery and rebuild a meaningful life after addiction. Personalized coaching services and online courses help to identify and overcome individual obstacles to sobriety and discover your path to purpose and success in life! Consultations and resources are also available to family members of those struggling.
In addition to my personal experience I have spent much time educating myself on mental health, substance use, and holistic healing. I have a BS of Psychology from Indiana University, a Master of Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University, am a Certified Recovery Coach through the Indiana Counselor’s Association on Drug and Alcohol Abuse. I am also a Certified Holistic Nutritionist through the American Fitness Professionals and Associates and have earned various certifications in crisis management, substance abuse, and mindfulness.
If you’ve had multiple stints in treatment and multiple relapses or find that you are doing well in recovery but want more out of life, you’re in the right place. I’m so glad you’re here!
